2009

We are keen to present our congregations and other interested parties with facts about the current financial situation and our vision for the future. You can also look in the Branches parish magazine or its link within this web site for any new information.

Capital works for 2009/10

The reordering of the church is now complete, after a lengthy period of administration and expenditure.

Give joyfully

It’s  not only money we need but time and the use of all our gifts. We are as the Body of Christ in Braunton, a sign of the presence of God, not just in St.B’s but in the wider community. We do not really own anything in this world; it is given to us to look after, for as everything comes from God we can only offer him what is already His.

Giving Regularly

This enables us to minister to all our regular church members and those in the community. Giving helps us meet our budget, enabling to us run the regular programme of services, keep a full-time vicar, heat and light the church building, pay for candles, linen, insurance etc. You can use weekly envelopes to make your gift so when you are away we still receive your gifts. It is a good idea if you are a tax payer to gift aid contributions so we can claim back the tax at 28p in the £.

A standing order at your bank is another way to give regularly.

Other giving

This could be done by making a one-off donation after an appeal, or remembering St.B’s in a will. At a wedding, baptism, funeral or special service there's a facility to use the yellow envelopes to be found in the pews too make a gift-aided donation. None-taxpayers would simply put any contribution into the collection bag. Every gift is most appreciated, especially by our treasurer as he tries to stretch our income to match the necessary budget.

Your time

There would be no chance of running a church like St.B’S  without the congregation and others who work so tirelessly and often without acknowledgment. The church is here to serve Braunton and this part of north Devon and our visitors.

Our ministry team take Holy Communion to the housebound and to local nursing homes. There are also Prayer and study groups, PCC, committee work, pastoral visiting, fund raising social committee, and others too many to list.

Our giving

The church also aims to sets aside money to give to charitable organisations .These have included the Church Missionary Society,United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel and Christian Aid.
